Goodbye to 2018

The Oregon Coast is a funny place. It can be windy and cold in the summer and calm and sunny in the winter. I’ve spent more than a few New Years’ here and had beautiful blue skies like these. This was a great way to send of 2018.

Salt Lake City

Mr. A and I recently took a trip to Salt Lake City. We went to see a concert, but we also hit the streets and saw a lot of the city and surrounding areas. Our first night there we enjoyed the beautiful display of Christmas lights all around the city and especially in Temple Square.

Philanthropic Art Winners

I recently created a fun poster using a dog image from the X-Treme Air dog show at the state fair. I will be donating the proceeds of this image to Chase Away K9 Cancer. It got me wondering how many others use their art to raise money and awareness for their cause.  I decided to host a contest on Fine Art America and make this the criteria for entry. The prizes would be promotion on my blog and social media pages.

The poster that inspired me can be found here.

And here are our winners!

First place:

Proceeds donated to shelter for refugee abused women.

Photography Prints

Second Place:

Oregon Coast

I headed down to the Coos Bay/North Bend/Bandon area of the Oregon Coast a couple of days ago to escape the smoke-filled valley and maybe get some good pictures. I don’t get down this way very often. It’s just enough of a drive to make for a long day. I think I got some good shots, and I definitely drank some good coffee and enjoyed some beautiful scenery.
